July 22-24 pre race photo journal

Sealey came out to swim with me in Mirror Lake the day we arrived in Lake Placid
July 22 - below Sealey and her new friend and I. So amazing to swim with dogs! I've rarely seen my girl so happy!
View of what would be my Ironman swim course
Below - still day 1 I went for a 45 min bike ride on the first part of the bike and run courses. The Olympic ski jumps are gigantic and compell the eye to stare in awe that skiers fly down at turbo speeds and propel themselves into the air and land on their feet!
I ran by this beautiful barn and the horses in the adjacent field 4 times during the run. I feel in love with it at first sight during my bike reconnaissance ride.
The couple below were the first athletes I met in LP. Canadians from Kingston, ON. They had tr same idea as me... To ride the run course
Canadian Bobsled team!
Always a thrill to pick up race kit - stickers for bike, helmet, 5 bags for transition, pre/post warm clothes, special needs and souvenirs (love the backpack which only racers get and cannot be purchased!!) and a IM logo on a bike tool set.
Personalized bib both bib and cap are unique to All World Athletes. Majority of racers got a green (men) or pink (women) swim cap so those with white cap are noticeable to all but especially family & friends
Lots of prep time needed to organize before Saturday when bike and all bike and run gear must be dropped off in transition or you cannot race on Sunday!
Above - meeting my new friend "Bear" at the park in front of his home in the town of Jay during a practice ride to Ausable Forks on Thursday, July 24th remains one of my fondest memories.
