Six Weeks Of Suffering Sacrifices & Soreness

Base 3 block starts today. Overall volume  goes up and intensity as well though not as much as the Build block to follow. So here come the hills both on the bike and run. Swim has some force sets but mostly the challenge is to add another swim so that I have 4  works of each sport in 7 days plus core strength maintenance.
This is also a time to really watch what I eat, the timing and amount.
I think I proved to myself this past weekend that I am ready.
Had good swim test on Friday night - time is 3 wks ahead of last year! yay me!
Saturday's swim camp was perfectly timed. Coach Heidi gave me something concrete to work on. Left hand is making a side entry - had no idea! The drill she had us do at camp when applied to my stroke will correct it. Anyone will be able to spot that! I loved being reminded that "you have to go slow to get faster". The swim day I'm adding will be 100% drills very focused and on a day when the lanes aren't too busy. Excited!!!
Sunday was long but somehow I finished the 4hr45 min and still found energy for playtime on the lake with Sealey for a total of 5.5 hrs of physical activity! Still did  the vacuuming and made supper. Really enjoyed a lazy sofa session in the evening
Today as I was going over my sked I found a spot to do my core workouts - lunchtime downstairs in the gym! I only have 1 midday run on Wed so I will gladly add it at lunch rather than to my 4 free evenings. I so prefer having 2 weekdays and both weekend evenings off!
All good. Oh! Some fun swim photos to add ... Stay tuned
