Peak week 2 of 2 going well & 2 sleeps left in my 40s!!!

Managing to fit in all my workouts despite the soggy midweek weather. Friday - my 50th birthday on Saturday including a 4 hr final brick rehearsal before Ironman Lake Placid through travel day and beyond is forecast as SUN! SUN! SUN!

Even have some wonderful Ironman friends joining me for all or part of my workout that starts at 07h00 with Barry providing his fabulous kayak support.

A surprise in store for all except Kristin who is in cahoots.

Feeling fairly organized for the trip. Race week schedule including my race time estimates and recovery week is done, printed and enlarged to place on my hotel wall. Just need to complete my trace plan which is in my head and written here and there. I've decided to be a brave girl and post it on the blog not just to keep me honest and immortalize it but to share it with all the family and friends and strangers who have followed me thus far and many of whom have given me some amazing encouraging love. I am compiled all those comments plus some favourite affirmations to also enlarge and post around my room at High Peaks resort.

Just had some precious gifts at work  today from Katerine (NS folk art! - I'm a collector) and Martine (all from MEC and all useful. Socks I may even use to run the IMLP marathon distance - will try them this wknd) so blessed am I to have coworkers I adore and consider soul sisters!

Must remember renew my drivers licence afterwork tomorrow as it expires on my birthday - yikes!

Off to the pool for a technique form swim.

I've been a good girl getting to bed earlier than usual and sleeping as long as I can to rest.

Stay tuned ... To be continued!
