At 13h today in Moncton a regimental funeral will be held for the three RCMP officers gunned down on June 4th.
My thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of these heroes and the two officers injured that day.
This tragic event happened in a city I called home for ten years. I know the residential neighbourhood that was in lockdown for over 24 hrs very well. I'm mindful that life has not returned to normal for many people in Moncton - a quiet peaceful place for which I have many fond memories. My thoughts are with the community today.
Like thousands upon thousands across the country. It is at a time like this that I want to thank the brave men, women, horses and dogs that put their lives at risk for our safety, security and peace.
