We put the swim raft in the lake late Saturday afternoon. Water temp 17c - warmer than expected for this deeper lake.
Sunday morning I posted a late-notice invite to my full brick practice x 3 and bless her heart, Suzanne Ferrier joined me! This is the 2nd time this training season she hasn't needed the training since she isn't racing this yr but is still keeping very fit and enjoys the sport so much - and knows how important it is to have a buddy doing this Ironman training - she joins me. Not only that she's game for anything. Always has a smile and good advice when asked.
And mostly is such a lovely person who swam the Big Swim last year across the Northumberland strait between New Brunswick and PEI!! Amazing! I might have to do that one year. But not this year hahaha!
Oh! Almost forgot towards the end of our brick run #2 a neighbours Jack Russell dog bite Suzanne and broke skin! I did minor first aid to the puncture and tear and she still did the entire brick = swim / t1 / bike / t2 / run!!
Morning photo of the lake yesterday
The lake remained calm all day! And was 18.5c! The weather kept threatening rain but it didn't happen - yay ! Really a worthwhile practice. Need to make a few minor adjustments this week.
We even had our first BBQ if 2014 last night... Though late... And no gardening happened - no time yet again ...
